The Effect of Long-term Care Utilization on Health Care Utilization of the Elderly

Abstract
This study is the National Health Insurance Corporation in 2007 and 2012 Health insurance(medical care) data(qualifications and benefits) and the 2012 long-term care insurance data(assessment and benefits) in accordance with whether or not the long-term care insurance used by the elderly how expenditure patterns were analyzed using a DID(Difference In Difference). Analysis subjects and a total of 33,448 people, the data of each user group long-term care insurance and non-military users 16,724 people in 2007 and 2012. First, the total medical expenses after the introduction of long-term care insurance, hospitalization medical expenses has been analyzed that the effect of the introduction. Second, long-term care insurance since the introduction outpatient drug was analyzed that no effect of the introduction. This analysis has been significantly even multiple regression analysis. Long-term care insurance has led to a reduction in medical effect.
